SARATOGA FLAG DAY PARADE
June 9, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
We just received directions for our participation in the Saratoga parade on this Saturday, June 9. This is one of the biggest parades in the area, and well-attended, so dig out your car flags and come join us. Here is what you need to know:
We are staging in the 5th Division and lining up on the EAST side of 1st Street, not where we were last year. Set your GPS for 30 1st Street, Saratoga Springs (it may also be listed as Gansevoort on some) and we should be near there. It may be easier to approach from East Avenue instead of North Broadway.
They want us to arrive between 10:30 and no later than 11:00. That will give you time to walk around and see the mansions on North Broadway or shops downtown. The parade starts at noon. Donāt drink too much coffee, as there are no bathrooms near us!
City ordinance prohibits tossing candy from our cars.
At the end of the parade, instead of turning into Congress Park with the marchers, we will head straight south on Broadway. You will probably be hungry, so join us at the 13 North restaurant, 2955 US 9, Malta, across from the Mobil station at the red light, about 4 miles out of town. You can turn left at the light onto Choke Cherry Road and enter from the back.
The parade is ārain or shineā, but the weather looks good. If you get lost, look for someone wearing a yellow vest, or just ask around.
Hope to see lots of VIPERS there!
